WELL Program Information
The main aim of the WELL Program is to assist organisations to train workers in English language, literacy and numeracy skills. This funding is available on a competitive grants basis to organisations for English language and literacy training linked to job-related workplace training and is designed to help workers meet their current and future employment and training needs. Pilbara TAFE can support your business with funding applications and to create the best possible program to develop your people's literacy needs.
Many organisations have used this program to develop literacy in areas such as
- Computer skills
- OHS
- Report writing
- Communication
From 1 July 2009 additional WELL places will be made available to Indigenous Employment Program participants as part of the reformed Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships.
Employers are expected to contribute at least 25% of approved total WELL training project costs in the first year (i.e. $1 contributed by the employer for $3 contributed by the Australian Government). Where funding is approved for any subsequent years, the employer contribution is expected to increase to 50% (i.e. match Australian Government funds dollar for dollar).
| Year | Employer Contribution | Australian Government Contribution |
| 1st Year | 25% | 75% |
| 2nd and 3rd year | 50% | 50% |
